 Monjett Graham - A mixed media painter-collagist
gives us in "Condominum" blocks of white paint,
pieces of string, negative windows, fragments of broken
records, musical symbols that dance across the canvas
reminiscent of Jackson Pollack. No figure is in sight,
but the pulsating movement in the painting tells us
there is life within. Graham is currently creating a
series called "Music in America" but the influence
of music is present in all of his work.Everywhere there
is movement. No piece is static. Whatever the subject
matter there is a sense of light and the dance. He credits
his move from San Francisco to Marin 15 years ago with
a lighter palette and a more pastel color in his work.     Back to Articles
